How to hang your Peel & Stick wallpaper
Hanging your Peel & Stick wallpaper is the final step where design, character and personality come together.
Checklist before hanging
-
Measure your wall – Confirm that you have enough wallpaper and that each strip matches the required height and width. Refer to our measuring guide for detailed instructions.
-
Prepare the surface – For a flawless result, walls should be smooth, clean, and completely dry. See our wall preparation guide for best practices.
-
Assemble your tools – Make sure all necessary tools are on hand. A complete overview can be found in our tools guide.
-
Acclimatize the wallpaper – Remove the wallpaper from its packaging, unroll it, and cut each length along the dotted marks to separate the strips. Identify each strip by their number (numbers found at the top right corner) and lay them flat on a clean floor surface with labels facing upward. While unrolled, pile them flat in numerical order with strip number one on top. Place them in the room where they will be installed for at least 24 hours, allowing the wallpaper to straighten and adjust to the temperature and humidity.

Hang your peel & stick wallpaper
Hang the first strip
The first strip sets the foundation for the entire installation. When facing the wall, application starts on the left-hand side with strip number one.
NOTE: If your wall is sloped and the highest point is on the right, begin on the right and hang the strips in reverse order.
Lightly mark the width of the first strip on the far left of the wall with a pencil. Using a spirit level, draw a fine vertical guideline indicating where the right edge of the strip should be, and align the wallpaper with your marked vertical guideline.
NOTE: If you added a safety margin when ordering, center the strip vertically on the wall so the excess is evenly distributed at the top and bottom.
Starting at the top of the wall, peel away approximately 25 cm (10 inches) of the backing paper at a time and apply the wallpaper to the wall. Do not remove the backing all at once. Work downward gradually. Gently smooth out air bubbles as you go with a wallpaper smoother.

Hang the remaining strips
Continue by aligning each new strip, from left to right in numerical order, edge-to-edge with the previous one without overlapping.
Carefully match the pattern, press the edges together firmly, and smooth out any air bubbles.

Smooth the finished wall
When all strips are installed, go over the entire wall once more using a wallpaper brush or plastic smoother. This ensures full contact between the wallpaper and the wall and enhances adhesion.
Trim and dry
Once all strips are in place, trim excess wallpaper at the ceiling and floor using a sharp knife and straight edge.
