How to measure your wall

One of the most important considerations when choosing your wallpaper is: how much do you need?

All our wallpapers are made to measure. Therefore, precise wall measurements are essential.

To produce your selected wallpaper, we require two measurements:

the width of the wall at its widest point
the height of the wall at its highest point

Depending on which type of wall you have, the way you measure it may vary. But what you want to end up with is always the same: a single rectangle, with clear measurements for width x height.

Important for all wall measurements

Measure only the area intended to be covered by the wallpaper. Do not include skirting boards, moldings, or other trim. To ensure a smooth and secure application, always add 10 cm / 4 inches per side when placing your order, regardless of wall type.

Standard wall

Measure the full width and height of the surface you wish to cover, at its widest and highest points. Exclude skirting boards and moldings.

Wall with doors or windows

If the wall includes doors, windows, or other obstacles, measure the wall as if they were not there. Any excess material will be trimmed during application.

Multiple adjoining walls

If your wallpaper is intended to flow seamlessly across multiple adjoining walls, treat the surface as one continuous surface. Combine the widths and heights (measured at the widest and highest points) of each wall and submit them as a single measurement within the same order.

Add another 5 cm / 2 inches extra for each corner.

Sloped wall

For sloped ceilings or walls, ignore the angle and measure the surface as a standard wall. Any excess material will be trimmed during application.

Staircase murals

When measuring for a staircase mural, do not follow the diagonal wall surface along the stairs. Instead, measure the full vertical distance from the highest point at the ceiling above the top of the staircase to the lowest point at floor level. Then measure the horizontal width of the staircase.

Your measurements should form a clean rectangle. Any excess material will be trimmed during application.
